“To travel is to discover that everyone is wrong about other countries.” – Aldous Huxley

And when I went to Cambodia to do some mission and teaching at the same time I have discovered that truly what other people think about this country is totally different when your feet touch its ground. I am a little guilty about my assumptions actually because although I have some expectations I was not still ready in facing new people, new language, and new culture.

Just like what I have shared already on my prior blog entries, I never imagined myself visiting Cambodia this year. That is why I would always say that this is just God’s grace. It taught me a lot and I was privileged to see more about the country, Cambodia. I have listed my top five must visit when you go there.

Top 5 : Stadium

If you are from Philippines I am sure you will appreciate this because we don’t have a stadium this huge, but if you aren’t, it depends if you still want to see it but as for me its vastness just starstruck me. I visited this stadium with a Khmer (local term for Cambodian)  and she told me that this one accommodates 50, 000 people. This is where usually national football fights are being held. Just a friendly reminder, come and visit this place when there are different teams from different country playing, I believe it will be a lot more exciting. When I came here, I only saw people dancing Zumba in the afternoon for there are no teams playing. Lol!

Top 4: Royal Palace

I might not be an effective person to invite you for this one because honestly I have not been inside the Royal Palace, outside is already beautiful though. In the afternoon there are lots of pigeons that you can feed. They said they only open the palace every Sunday so the people can get in. I am not quite sure if there is a fee for foreigners. When the Khmer New Year is approaching they are designing the palace with wonderful dancing lights.

Top 3: Koh Daich

If you are a “swimming type kind of adventurer” this place is a good one to visit. This is a haven to relax and just have some good times with your family or love ones. Some foreigners also visit this because of its “nipa hut floating on the river” style. Food are being sold here also and some souvenirs.

Top 2: Killing Fields

All I can say with this one is that I am greatly moved. I can never imagine what happened here happening in our country.

Top 1: Angkor Wat

The first on the list for me is the amazing Angkor Wat. It is the largest religious monument in the world and for me it is awesome how it was built. Many tourists visit this one.

I hope you have been informed and been excited by sharing these photos of the places that you can visit in Cambodia. If you have any question, just let me know, go to my about page and I have a way there so we can get in touch. Blessings my friend!
